E4: Laws of Conservation — A level

Analyse one of these situations where energy is transformed:

1. Someone driving a car down the road at night with the air-con on.
2. Someone cooking in a kitchen with an electric stove, a microwave, a kettle and a fridge.

You will need to do some research.

Consider these points:

• What energy transformations are happening?
• How much energy is being transformed in each transformation? Ensure that the law of conservation of energy is being followed.
• Which transformations are doing the work we want, and which transformations are unhelpful?
