C7 — The torch

Wire up your Arduino and breadboard as shown in the diagram below. This is the same as in level 1, but with a buzzer added.

Open up the Arduino sketch from level 2 and save it with the name C7-level3.

At the top of the sketch, where the buttonPin and ledPin are defined, also define a buzzerPin. Get the number for this pin from the wiring diagram.

In the setup() function, add a line that sets up the buzzerPin as an output.

There should be three sections of code to change the torch state. They are all similar to this:

    if (torchState == 0) {
        if (digitalRead(buttonPin) == LOW) { // If the button is pressed
            torchState = 1;                  // Change the torch state
            delay(200);                      // Wait for the button to stop bouncing
        }
    }

Add a line before the delay() function, and add code to turn the buzzer on.

Add a line after the delay() function, and add code to turn the buzzer off.

Now try it out. Remember, it should work the same as in level 2, but with a beep each time you push the button.
